Lliphik, Carla Quiroga's first flash of light-Revista Así-Opinión Bolivia
The combination of versatile designs, original fabrics and concepts rooted in Bolivian traditions is part of every garment in the Lliphik collection of designer Carla Quiroga.
This new creative capsule, which in Quechua sweetness means''the moment of the first flash of light'', seeks to give hope and show the beginning of a new cycle in people's lives and on the path of the renowned designer.
The mixture of materials woven to crochet, such as cotton and the tape "commonly used by our cholas", as well as the bright green colors, lavender, mint, orange, mustard and peach predominate in the Lliphik collection, describes Quiroga.
"we think of the versatility and comfort of the designs. The silhouette is languid, with transparency thanks to tissue points, "he explains.
All the designer's garments are unique, but among the most iconic are the dresses with fringe woven entirely with crochet, as well as the wide pants in living tones.

One of the characteristics of Carla Quiroga is her intimate work with weavers from Cochabamba and La Paz, who exploit their imagination by creating garments with concepts that go beyond simple style. "to work hand in hand with artisans is always a surprise, as it is a round trip in the design, in materializing the role in the physical, besides that it takes time and can sometimes change things during the process," Quiroga says.
Due to this close relationship, the weaving full of details is an essential part of the brand and what customers highlight and recognize. "Knitwear is now very fashionable, but much earlier we work on enhancing handcrafted work, by hand, in fabric with different threads and materials."
In this 2022, as in the previous years, the retro-trend will predominate. Carla assures that the style of the '90s will impose fashion in the following months.
As for the challenge of designing in Bolivia, the creative one calls for awareness of the importance of highlighting national work. "we continue to fight against contraband clothing or used clothing, which is killing our legacy of fabrics, embroidery and clothing. We are so fortunate to have such creative hands that if the collective in the country does not understand the importance of consuming local, our trades are at risk of extinction. And not only trades, but also Bolivian costumes, types and identity, "Quiroga points out.
All brand items can be found on social networks: Instagram and Facebook as Carla Quiroga Official. Also on its website www.carlaquiroga.com and in its store in Cochabamba located on Paseo Aranjuez.
