Two minors died after an armed confrontation between the CJNG and the Veracruz police

After a crossfire confrontation between elements of the Veracruz Civil Force and a group of presumed members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), two died children, one 13 and the other 15 years old in the municipality of Amatlán de los Reyes.

According to the first police reports, the uniformed officers were responding to a report of armed persons in the community of Guadalupe La Patrona, in the mountainous area of ​​the state, for which they implemented an operative special.

Responding to the call were elements of the Civil Force, the elite group of the SSP, who upon arrival were shot at by the alleged criminals.

During the armed confrontation, the two minors who were inside a house cleaning a van died.

After the crossfire, the armed individuals fled the site without the authorities being able to stop them, however, it was revealed that they seized at least one truck in which there were narcotics and weapons inside.

It is presumed that the culprit in the death of the two minors was Gregorio Arenas, alias “El Wester” or “El Chango”, leader of a CJNG cell, for orchestrating the armed confrontation this afternoon, since that area is supposedly dominated by him.

Gregorio Arenas, is one of the most wanted criminals in Tennessee, United States and leads a criminal cell of the CJNG that is dedicated to theft of public transport, extortion, collection of property and the execution of police officers municipalities of Tezonapa, Veracruz.

On May 31, 2020, through the Civil Force, Gregorio was arrested in the central region of Veracruz, when he was traveling in a Nissan NP300 (XK9016A) truck. The policemen were in the town of Cruz Tetela, when they observed said unit from which "El Wester" got out and shot at them, but when they found themselves overcome, the attack ceased and he was intervened. After an inspection, they seized 25 doses of marijuana, an M4 New Frontier weapon, a charger with 22 useful cartridges, and the vehicle.

In the United States, the CJNG lieutenant was accused of murdering Albertano Guerrero Trejo and a reward was even offered for providing information on his whereabouts. A month later, he was found in the bedroom of a house on East Fairview Boulevard, where he was hiding in a closet under a pile of clothes and sheets.

In addition to “El Wester”, the Veracruz Secretary of Public Security detained Javier “N”, alias “El Tucán”, the alleged head of CJNG hitmen in the Acayucan region, as well as Lázaro "N", alias "El Zurdo" and Carlos "N", alleged members of the criminal organization, accused of committing different crimes.

Through a citizen complaint, the troops were alerted to the presence of armed persons aboard a Jeep Grand Cherokee truck, license plates MJX1104 from the State of Mexico, in the Lealtad neighborhood, Sonusco municipality, Veracruz.

When they located the unit, they called a stop but the subjects tried to escape by shooting at the officers, but they followed them until they hit a tire and intervened with operators of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel.

In the unit, those involved were carrying a Colt MK IV brand squad, .45 mm caliber, a charger and a useful cartridge, as well as a package with approximately 400 grams of marijuana.

“El Tucán”, “El Zurdo” and Carlos “N” are accused of drug trafficking, land collection and extortion activities in the Acayucan area, and they are also related to the attack on the facilities of the Attorney General of the Republic located in this city.

After the arrest in 2020, a judge would have released "El Wester", for which he returned by taking control of the CJNG cell, which this afternoon was blamed for the murder of two minors.
