Laureano Oubiña: from prison to selling 'Nécora', his own clothing brand, in mercadillos
The story of Laureano Oubiña has crumb. Businessman who had everything and then nothing, who was in prison for drug trafficking ... and now he sells his own clothing brand in markets: 'Nécora'. With messages included.
Oubiña has started a business based on his own life and using that famous firm that associates him so much. 'Ncora'. "The idea sprung up in my head, I have to survive and try to defend myself from everything they did to me," he confessed in a few words in La Vanguardia. Under it he travels through Galicia selling t-shirts, sweatshirts, masks, down jackets, slippers and with it his memory book. "If I had worn these slippers, Judge Garzón would not catch me at home," jokes the ex-narco.
Gone is an intense and controversial life. "I've been a millionaire and I've been ruined. I've survived several shootings. I was accused of crimes I didn't commit. I was convicted of crimes I did commit. I was punished for talking too much and I was punished for talking less. I came to own a great heritage; they took everything from me".
He barely has a pension of 400 euros and what he does is complete it with that business he has invented... far from previous vicissitudes that cost him dearly. "I pay rent 350, electricity goes to 300, plus water. I have no savings, I get by selling books and my merchandising, I go to fairs, markets and all the events that have taken place and for having traveled thousands of kilometers by road a week ", he confesses.
Second book by Oubiña, in the making: 'Disassembling Fariña'
In addition, he already has the draft of his second book, 'Disassembling Fariña', in which he claims to deny the data and plots of Nacho Carretero's novel.
