Thalía , one of the most beloved celebrities of the show after continuing to be present in the music industry , caused a furor on social networks, after she made her Lyme disease visible on TikTok , which she has suffered for years. Situation that she has made her stronger during the last 13 years , according to what she told her. What is this disease and why can it give ? Last year, Thalía reported on this condition that she has suffered for more than a decade and how she has improved thanks to the special care she has followed to prevent it from beating her.

Since then, the actress who gave life to María la del Barrio has positioned herself to spread more aspects of this disease that is caused by a tick. Therefore, she took advantage of her popularity on TikTok, where she has more than 4 million followers, to talk about this chronic disease.

With several images and in a didactic way, she shared some generalities of this condition and the symptoms that are witnessed with this fact.

She also showed some medications that she uses. She explained that this disease is transmitted by ticks that live in wooded areas.

She assured that she does not know the date on which she was infected, although she considers that it may have been in late 2007, before she had her eldest daughter Sabrina Sakae.

“Every hour of my life is a fight against Lyme. Some days I feel horrible, others like new. But regardless of that, I always try to get up and quickly get into my routine. Exercising, a balanced diet and a positive mental attitude are the only things that make it possible to survive the disease”, said Thalía.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Lyme disease is caused by four main species of bacteria: Borrelia burgdorferi, Borrelia mayonii, Borrelia afzelii, and Borrelia garinii, and is transmitted through the bite of an infected black-legged tick, known as a deer tick.

Some of the symptoms of Lyme disease usually appear in stages and include fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, headache, stiff neck, and swollen lymph nodes.

In addition, there will be a small red rash, similar to a tick bite. Each symptom will be presented according to the stage in which the disease is found; however, if detected early, the drug can reduce symptoms.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention , Lyme disease is treatable; however, you must continue with the treatment, otherwise you could have complications.

Some of the antibiotics commonly used for oral treatment include doxycycline, amoxicillin, or cefuroxime axetil. People with certain neurological or cardiac forms of the disease may require intravenous treatment with antibiotics such as ceftriaxone or penicillin.
