How much does a youtuber earn in Mexican pesos in 2021?

Sections of this article: ¿Cuánto gana un youtuber en pesos mexicanos en 2021? ¿Cuánto gana un youtuber en pesos mexicanos en 2021?

On average, YouTube pays five Mexican pesos for every thousand views of a video on the platform, as long as the user is part of the Partner Program.

That is the quick answer, but there is a lot of context behind it to really know how much a YouTuber can earn for creating and monetizing content on the platform.

Currently, there are cases of youtubers and channels that earn thousands or even millions of pesos on the platform. Especially those who have a history of several years like Yuya, Werevertumorro, Los Polinesios, Luisito Comunica, Caeli, Ana Emilia, etc.

Also more recent influencers like Kimberly Loaiza or Juan de Dios Pantoja have achieved massive success in recent years with their videos on YouTube.

Obviously, each one has his own ways of earning money independently of his work as a YouTuber in Mexico. But in this text we will first focus on explaining how to monetize our content on the platform and later we will talk about other ways of income that the influencers themselves recommend in their videos.

How much does a youtuber earn in Mexican pesos in 2021

The most famous youtubers in Mexico have different monthly income on the platform. So there is no standard amount that applies to everyone.

There are platforms that analyze the number of subscribers, number of videos, views and other data to make an estimate of how much income YouTubers can have per month, only with the content published on the platform.

However, the numbers that these pages present usually yield very large numbers, because their calculation does not consider variants such as the distribution of profits in Mexico is not the same as in the United States; videos that are not monetized, but do generate views; followers who no longer watch your videos, but are subscribed to the channel; Videos that were popular at one time, but have radically dropped in views or frequency of uploads.

If you want to consult this type of page, the best known are Noxinfluencer and Social Blade. But keep in mind the aforementioned variables to make your own estimate.

To make a calculation a little closer to reality, we can take as a base the 5 pesos per thousand reproductions and use the monthly views data obtained by the aforementioned platforms.

In that sense, a very conservative average of what a famous Mexican youtuber can earn in pesos per month would be the following:

Luisito Communicates. 557 thousand pesos, with 111 million monthly visits.

Yuya. 78 thousand pesos, with 15 million monthly visits.

The Polynesians. 248 thousand 485 pesos, with 49 million monthly visits.

Kimberly Loiza. 583 thousand 890 pesos, with 116 million monthly visits.

Juan de Dios Pantoja. 102 thousand 860 pesos, with 20 million monthly visits.

TV Ana Emilia. 267 thousand 420 pesos, with 53 million monthly visits.

*Only main channels were taken into account and not secondary or collaborative ones.

Remember that these estimates are made with approximate data and with a standard calculation of 5 pesos per thousand views, so the resulting amounts may vary, according to the type of ads and flow of monthly views on the channel.

Other ways to generate income as a youtuber

Content creators can earn much larger revenues off the platform, through different methods.

To do this, in addition to youtubers, they must assume the role of influencer that allows them to obtain contracts with brands to carry out promotions. Or, venture into an enterprise backed by its popularity. Some examples are:

-Promote products, brands, services or destinations in your videos.

-Be an ambassador or image of a brand.

-Appearances in commercial programs or movies.

-Musical productions.

-Write books or lend your image for promotion.

-Start a business or be the image of a business.

-Make sponsored posts on your social networks.

-Make paid mentions in your stories on social networks.

-Sell products and merchandising from your channel.

-Make collaborations or activations with brand, companies or other content creators.

There are many examples, such as Luisito Comunica, who is the image in Mexico of the Pillo Fon telephone service of the company Diri Comunicaciones; Yuya's brand of cosmetics and products; the books and toys of Los Polinesios; the protein of Bárbara de Regil or even the mentions of the Green Party that caused so much controversy during the elections.

This happens all over the world, in Spain, also as an example, most of the content of the vlogger Verdeliss is sponsored. His videos deal with home issues, in almost all of them, he promotes some product or brand, the mention of which makes him earn money, regardless of their reproductions on the platform.

How to monetize my videos on YouTube

The formula of 5 pesos per thousand reproductions is one of the most common among users who are starting on the platform. Obviously, these incomes vary a lot, depending on the type of content that is produced, the number of followers, but above all, on YouTube's monetization policies.

Any user with a Google account can create a free YouTube channel where they can upload their own videos or make live broadcasts. But this does not mean that you will already be monetizing from the first moment.

Before starting to earn money on the platform, you must be accepted into the YouTube Partner Program. We explain it to you below.

Requirements to enter the YouTube Partner Program

By opening your YouTube channel, you can start uploading videos that you like, as long as you don't violate the rules of the platform. Among which are uploading graphic, offensive, sexual or plagiarized content.

Surely it comes to mind that there are many channels on YouTube that upload songs, movies, episodes of series and a lot of copyrighted content; but all those kinds of materials cannot be monetized and may even cause you to be sued, so it is better to avoid it and create original content.

If your plan is to become a youtuber and earn money from your videos, your channel must meet the following requirements to be part of the Partner Program:

It seems simple, but perhaps some people may find it difficult to reach those figures in the short term. The good news is that there is no time limit to qualify for the YouTube Partner Program and start monetizing your videos.

How to earn money from YouTube

Monetization on YouTube is not only based on views. In fact, that is a very important aspect that new users must understand:

The commercials and ads that appear in your video are the biggest earners on YouTube.

Is it a contradiction to the formula of 5 Mexican pesos for every thousand visits? The answer is NO and here is the explanation.

YouTube earns revenue from the advertising displayed on the page, this money it receives from the companies that advertise is shared between the content creators and the platform.

That is why users who monetize on YouTube are called Partners, because both accept the terms of a mutual agreement, in which they provide the platform and the users create the content so that the ads have a place to appear. Thus, both share the profits obtained.

This is a simple way to explain it, obviously, it is much more complex and if you want to know more about it, check this link.

Once the channel is monetizing, youtubers must learn to calculate their income through RPM and CPM. We explain them below.

Every time a Partner uploads a monetized video, the number of views is counted, as well as the number and type of ads that appeared in that content.

Not all youtubers, nor all the videos of a single user will have the same earnings when they get a thousand visits.

The calculation will vary based on viewer activity during your video, for example:

The 5 pesos per thousand reproductions are a kind of standard for youtubers who are just starting out or who have a modest number of subscribers.

Of course, the more views and hours of playback the youtuber gets, the better advertisers will want to put their advertising on your videos and the income will be higher.

Why should I care about RPM and CPM on YouTube?

Revenue per thousand views (RPM) is a metric that represents the amount of money you earn for every thousand video views. RPM is calculated based on different revenue sources, such as ads, Channel Members, YouTube Premium, Super Chat, and Super Stickers.

While CPMs are the cost per thousand impressions. This is a metric that indicates how much money advertisers spend showing ads on YouTube.

We leave you this video so that you better understand how to calculate your income per thousand views, based on the RPM. Activate subtitles in Spanish.

How long will it take to generate money

All monetized videos on YouTube generate revenue. At first, it may seem that there are very few, but the trick is to be constant, win subscribers and create attractive content that always receives visits.

Mexican and world youtubers with many years on the platform already have a "cushion" of visits that allows them to generate money from their old videos on a monthly basis without making an effort.

A youtuber who started 10 years ago and publishes between 4 and 8 videos a month will continue to generate a flow of money, because those contents constantly get visits.

But for small or new youtubers, generating income will not be so easy. If you are not constant in uploading new monetized videos and your materials are not attractive and do not get views, it may take several months to get your first payment, which is released until you collect 1,200 Mexican pesos or more.
