Car manufacturers open their online stores: what now?
Delivery or pick up at the store? It is a question that Mexicans have become accustomed to answering for the delivery of food, appliances or clothing during the pandemic. But soon it may also be something they ask when buying their next vehicle.
The health crisis, which in Mexico has been going on for a year now, has disrupted car sales and the buying and selling process will hardly be the same again. Dealers and automakers are changing business strategies and investing millions in new digital sales tools as consumers demand more online and personalized services.
"This entire period of confinement has been a turning point from which there is no going back," says Martha Rivera, a professor in the Commercialization Department at IPADE.
