Una modelo desvela cómo la ‘disfrazan’ para cumplir los estándares de belleza imposibles

This is demonstrated by Karoline Bjornelykke, a "plus size" model who has revealed one of the best kept secrets in the industry: brands look for models with thin faces and fill them with all kinds of foam so that plus size clothes fit them. adjusted.

If we thought that betting on plus-size models was a very important step to end impossible stereotypes and make room for all kinds of beauty, we were very wrong: "They not only create unrealistic standards, but impossible ones," says Karoline.

The young woman explains in a TikTok video why brands hire her when she is a size M to model large sizes like 44: "If you have eyes on your face you will see that I don't have this size," she says. For this reason, the young woman disguises herself with foam padding that the brand sends her in order to appear to be much larger than she really is.

By dressing models in foam to fit plus sizes, they only create impossible beauty standards that millions of people around the world will compare themselves to and be frustrated by not meeting. For this reason, Karoline sends a message to the industry: “Please use real plus size models, because there are beautiful women with plus sizes”.

Karoline's confession stemmed from another viral video with over eight million views showing her physical change from runway model to plus size model. The result: twelve seconds with images from when she suffered from anorexia (according to her own admission), ending with her current appearance, visibly much healthier.

After her personal experience, Karoline fights through social networks to have a much more plural beauty industry and without impossible standards, becoming an inspiration for thousands of people.
