Instagram will reinstate an option from the past and users are elated
Year 2010. You have your first 'smartphone' and you download Instagram, that new photo 'app' that has been overshadowing Twitter. You upload your first photo. "Filter X-Pro II or Valencia? It seems that they are the most cool", you think. Your two most technological friends, who have also been the pioneers of the group in opening a profile, give you a 'like'. You have a total of: two 'likes', and your friend also makes a comment: "Ole!". You feel powerful, as if you were an acclaimed 'egoblogger'.
The fact is that time goes by and more and more people in your circle and other people from the institute and the uni are joining the application, and your 'feed' is becoming more choral: fashion brands, beauty, lifestyle ..., celebrities, friends, colleagues, 'crushes' flood your day to day with photos, and the way you expose yourself to them (chronologically), lets you know when you've caught up on everything they've posted the users you follow.

June 2016. Instagram announces that there will be a change in your 'feed': now it will show you the posts based on an algorithm that determines how important it is for you to see one before another. It upsets us all, but we got used to it (ah, shortly after the 'stories' also arrived, turning point fantasy).

December 2021. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri confirms that the company is working to implement a version of a chronological 'feed' that is expected to launch in 2022. But it won't be like the formula of yesteryear, it's a little more dynamic.
This new version will require users to update a 'favorites' list so Instagram can prioritize posts from those accounts and display them chronologically.
"We've been experimenting with 'favorites', a way to indicate which posts the user wants to see higher up, and we're working on another option to see posts from people you follow in chronological order," Instagram Cooms said. "But we want to make it clear that these are new options so people can decide what works best for them, we're not switching everyone to a chronological feed. You'll find out more early next year!"
